Carnegie: Hot Tyres and Older Stencilled Finishes

Carnegie is on mixed sand-loam over clay — a suburb with a high proportion of older stencilled and coloured concrete driveways that are now 15–25 years old. Hot-tyre marking and oil staining are the priority threats, and the older stencilled finishes are at the age where surface sealer is either worn through or has partially delaminated. We reseal Carnegie driveways with tyre-rated penetrating products that stabilise the older surface rather than adding a cosmetic film over a degraded base.

The reseal cycle that actually works

Resealing every 2–5 years for external surfaces — driveways, paths, pool surrounds — is what makes the original finish last. The reseal is a smaller job than the original install: clean, prep, apply fresh sealer with anti-slip additive where needed.
